The Power of Silence

In silence the power moves, things begin to shift, change begins to happen, truth is revealed, prayers are answered, ideas are manifested, dreams are made a reality, business’s are birthed and life finds its value in you then you begin to see your authentic self. Make time for dedicated prayerful silence, rest, reflection and renewal. Focus on “Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things” (Philippians 4:8)

Move past the inner chattering mind. Invite an experience of peace that comes from stepping away from the selfless conversations. Give God space to speak, welcome him in. Be present when the spirit of the Lord is speaking to you. Follow the four C’s COMMUNICATION: Listening to God, COMPREHENSION: Understanding what God says. CONFIDENCE: Trusting in what God is doing, CHANGE: Being transformed by the word of God.

In order to have a constructive conversation with God, it takes two. You must be able to hear the questions he asks you and the instructions he provides. If we are too busy leaning on our own understanding and having unproductive conversations, we will miss the landmarks he gives for us to arrive to our destination.

Habakkuk 2:1-I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give…(Habakkuk 2:1)

The Bible tells us to meditate on God’s Word. Our thoughts determine our behavior and what we think about is very important. Don’t miss the message by tapping in the wrong source, tuning in to the wrong station and being turned off spiritually. Here are three times during the day that you can be tapped in, tuned in and turned on to God’s Word.

1. Before you go to sleep at night, make sure that you have God’s word be the last thing that occupies space in your mind.

2. When you wake up, before you hit the ground running, start your day with God’s Word, let that be the first thing to occupy space in your mind in the morning.

3. Dedicate a specific time each day to be in God’s Word so it can speak to you throughout your day, try lunch time or after work.

Proverbs 23:7
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.

Proverbs 18:21
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Isaiah 55:8-9:
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Be blessed, Be encouraged
